We are delighted to welcome back Stephen Layton with The Holst Singers and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment to draw the Festival to a close with a star-studded performance of Bach’s monumental Mass in B minor. Completed towards the end of his life, and surrounded by conjecture regarding the circumstances of its composition, this enormous work of faith is rightly regarded as both a pinnacle of Bach’s towering achievement and of the 18^th century as a whole. Et Resurrexit!
