The six Cello Suites by J.S. Bach stands central in any cellists’ repertoire and are loved by performers and audiences worldwide. Composed during Bach’s period in Köthen (1717-23) whilst a music director for prince Leopold, these works can now celebrate 300 years. Each new performance made is still unique and tells us something about the music’s profound ability to bring forth the performer’s musical personality.
