Seen through the ears

This concert is inspired by G.P. Telemann’s fascination with the ‘optical harpsichord’, an instrument that played a different colour for each note, and for which Telemann composed several works, now lost. Taking inspiration from the composer’s fascination with synaesthesia, Improviso presents some of his finest chamber works using new technology that transforms and projects the pitches of their instruments into different colours, presenting a multimedia audio-visual experience that will offer a completely new way to hear, see, and feel this music.
