This biennial event celebrates brass chamber music and presents a showcase for the finest student brass ensembles of the eight major UK conservatoires. The Brass Spectacular is presented in memory of the distinguished trumpet player Philip Jones (1928-2000) who pioneered brass chamber music worldwide with his Philip Jones Brass Ensemble in the 1970s and 1980s. Each of the eight music colleges will present their best brass ensembles which can be of any formation from trio, quartet, quintet, sextet, septet, dectet or more. The evening will open with a fanfare and close with a massed band. It will be, without a doubt, a unique event for our rising brass stars!
