The sky at which the poets have cast their centuries-long gaze are the same as those in our sight today. The oldest of all things — the river, lofty mountain, and verdant wood — all maintain their ancient postures. The stress and anxiety of modern society takes it toll on us all; ancient Chinese culture calls on us to follow the way of nature, with equality and harmony at its core, to achieve the harmonious development of human beings, nature and society. East Wind’s presents ‘All Things in Harmony’, a concert marrying East and West, ancient and modern, nature and technology through century-old poems and new music to bring into focus the concept of coexistence of home, hope, harmony and health in honour of Chinese New Year.
Five composers of Chinese-origin will premiere their works in this concert in the UK in association with London musicians. Along internationally recognised, classically trained singers and instrumentalists, the ancient instrument, Konghou, rarely heard outside of China and travelling to the UK especially for this concert, and Peking Opera, the ancient Chinese voice, will combine to bring a unique concert experience to curious London audiences
