Serenade in E flat

‘Figures in the Garden’ is a testament to Dove’s ability to evoke vivid imagery through his music. Commissioned by Glyndebourne to precede Mozart’s ‘The Marriage of Figaro’, this serenade for wind octet draws on musical ideas from Mozart’s operatic masterpiece, creating alternative scenarios for his characters in a visionary musical tapestry!

Following on, Harvey’s work intertwines Mozart’s iconic melodies with his own contemporary language, resulting in a serenade that honours tradition whilst pushing the boundaries of musical expression.

Concluding this lunchtime concert is Mozart’s ‘Serenade in E flat’, hailed as one of his most beloved works with its delicate harmonies and graceful melodies.
