The Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra is thrilled to return to St John’s for the opening concert of its 2020/21 season. The orchestra performs a varied programme of audience favourites, beginning with the prelude to Wagner's Romantic opera, Lohengrin. This is followed by the enduringly popular Piano Concerto No.2 by Rachmaninov, featuring soloist William Bracken. Camille Saint-Saëns’ epic Organ Symphony provides an impressive finale to the concert. William Bracken is a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He was a prize winner in both the junior and senior categories at the 2016 Welsh International Piano Competition. In December 2019 he made his solo radio debut playing in a concert of works by German composer Detlev Glanert. Most recently William was the 2020 winner of the Glass Seller’s Beethoven Prize.
